Every allurement to do what God has forbidden in His Word is what temptation is all about.
First and foremost, temptations do not come from God. We have His undaunted Word on that:
" Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man''(James 1:13).
According to the scriptures, there are three consistent sources of temptation.
THE DEVIL:
The devil is the principal author of temptation. He tempted Eve and succeeded in getting her to sin.(Genesis 3:1-7).
